Step-by step guide...
Set-up & Prep
We recommend wearing a button-up shirt when colouring (makes everything a whole lot easier at the end).
Put on your gloves and cape, then starting with dry combed hair part it down the middle into two sections.
Mix your colour
Using your kitchen scales mix,
- 40g of colour
- 30g of developer
- 30g of water
You can double these quantities for long thick hair. If you want a slightly lighter result, mix 50g of colour with 75g of the developer.
Apply the mix
1. Take a 4cm section on one side of the head.
2. Place your hand under the section and paint onto your mid lengths and ends of the hair using your hand as a support ‘backing’ for the brush.
Milk your colour
1. With both hands milk the sections to ensure even spread of colour.
2. Repeat the steps above working down one side of the head.
3. Repeat action on other side. Take 4cm sections, paint on the colour and milk the hair from mid-lengths to ends.
5. Repeat on back section. Take 4cm sections, paint on the colour and milk the hair from mid-lengths to ends.
6. Once your hair is all painted, set a timer for 10 minutes.
Wash your colour out...
Wash your hair by double shampooing your roots and conditioning from roots to ends.
